National Working Group, State & District Coordinators meeting On PEOPLES’ MOBILISATION FOR CHILDREN’S RIGHT TO EDUCATION
A meeting of National Working Group, State & district Coordinators was organised in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh from 7-9 August, 2010 for planning tasks of working group and reviewing the previous actions so as to outline future action plans for the campaign.

Started ‘Savitribai Phule E-learning Centre’ for marginalised women and children where it is decided to campaign FREE Software Movement. It is inaugurated on 9th of March, 2010.
Regarding climate change a lot of initiatives have been taken by organising lectures, workshops, releasing booklets, forming environment groups etc.
BGVS is working extensively in Kolhapur district on sustainable agriculture.
Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Bihar
Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Bihar had their 7th conference on 9-11 January, 2010 at Bahadurganj in Kishanganj district. In the conference, future tasks and action plans were set and accordingly started their activities to become self sustain at the state level.
In collaboration with UNICEF Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Bihar is campaigning against corporal punishment in six districts. In this context, a state level training programme was organised in Vaishali district from 8-10 April, 2010. It was decided that in each school a person will be posted to look after and a district level evaluation meeting was held on 14th and 25th April. Worhshops are going on the schools to aware teachers against the corporal punishment.
With the Education department of the Bihar government, Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Bihar is doing evaluation works in Sitamarhi district as part of the Akshar anchal Yojona.

National Advisory Committee Meeting on RTE
The meeting of the National Advisory Committee meeting for the implementation of BGVS project ‘PEOPLES’ MOBILISATION FOR CHILDREN’S RIGHT TO EDUCATION’ was organised at NUEPA, New Delhi on the 25th June, 2010.
