BGVS conceives the Continuing Education as a citizen’s educational programme for their Rights. It is integrating people’s needs of Information, Livelihoods and Governance. The idea of Convergence means, essentially
1. Integration of all developmental efforts in the panchayats
2. Focus of various activities in a specified geographical area – the Gram Panchayats.
3. Formation of a resource group – with definite skills and shared vision in each gram panchayat that can effectively intervene in the development process.
At the operational level a Panchayat Resource group of 8 to 10 persons will provide support to integrate all the efforts. BGVS is conducting the continuing education – Samata convergence in 1500 gram panchayats across the country.
The method adopted is to conducted intensive trainings of the Panchayat Resource to It shall be major responsibility of these groups to integrate all Government schemes, in accordance with the necessities and conditions of the area, , each of which will help bridge - The Economic Divide. These groups will also initiate activities designed consciously to bridge- The social divide – balmelas, cultural festivals, cultural exchanges with other states, picnics etc. etc. – a variety of such activities can be thought of these will also bridge the knowledge divide be organizing educational programmes such Literacy classes, Enhance Education Qualification, Computer Literacy etc.
