The Seventh General Council Meeting of the BGVS was convened at Thirupati, Andhra Pradesh from 21-22nd, July 2008. The two day General Council reviewed the activities of the previous years and unanimously adopted the annual report presented by Dr. Kuldip Tanwar, Secretary.

65 delegates from 23 state units participated in the General Council meeting. Dr. M. P. Parameswaran presented a vision document on the future tasks of BGVS. The General Council also adopted a detailed plan of action for the coming three years after detailed discussions. A new Executive Committee was elected by the General Council for the coming 3 years.
