Doctor Team from Kerala in Bihar

2008.

A 15 member’s team consisting of doctors and health activists from the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad (KSSP) has reached the flood hit areas of Bihar to check up the suffering and other people in the relief operation.

The medical team from Kerala, including 5 doctors and 7 paramedical staff has been visiting all the camps. Apart from the camp residents, lots of near by villagers also are taking their services. Important medicines were distributed among the people to control any epidemic. Out Patient registers are kept for follow up activities.

60 BGVS health workers were given 3 days’ training on preventive health care practices, awareness building and disaster preparedness. Now, these workers are working in different blocks, the district administration of Saharsa has sought to take services of twenty newly trained activists for increasing their manpower to provide support to those who are in need.
